This PSP Homebrew Loader known as Half-Byte Loader HBL rev 81 will let you run PSP Homebrew Games and Application on your PSP Running official PSP Firmware . This latest release is a bit more stable and more homebrews are starting to be compatible . After all I guess those users running official firmware that want to be able to run homebrew on their PSP will be able to now . No need to have a CFW installed in order to run a PSP Homebrew on the PSP . Remember that Half-Byte Loader HBL rev 81 is still in beta stages and not all homebrew or emulator are compatible with this homebrew loader . But they way the development is going. It wont be long to we are able to see Half-Byte Loader HBL running stable and able to play all PSP Homebrew without the need of any patch . Also note that this PSP Homebrew Loader will not run any PSP ISO or CSO . So don’t expect it to run nor expect the development to add that feature .

Half-Byte Loader (HBL) is an open source Homebrew Loader for the Sony PSP. It allows to play fan-made games on any PSP up to firmware 6.20. HBL allows to run emulators for the Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, Sega Megadrive, NES, Super NES… and many other applications. HBL is currently the ONLY way to play homebrew games on any PSP that has a firmware 5.50, 5.55, 5.70, 6.00, 6.10, 6.20 (HBL works on all known firmwares), including on the PSP Go.
